Draw Control on Vertical Blinds

Draw Control is simply the mechanism by which you open the vertical blinds so that you have full view of your window or patio door. There are two main options for how you open/close and tilt your vertical blinds:

Standard Cord/Chain:

This looped nylon cord (or chain) hangs from the headrail. Pulling up or down on the cord opens and closes the vertical blinds. A second cord or chain accompanies the first and allows you to tilt the vanes of the vertical blinds open or closed. Whether the cords/chains hang to the floor or are looped around a peg in the wall, consumers should be cautioned that this type of draw control is a safety hazard to young children and pets.

Child Safety Wand:

The wand is the safest way of opening/closing vertical blinds as there are no cords or chains in which to get trapped or tangled. The wand is a plastic "stick" which attaches to the top of the blinds. The user pulls or pushes the blinds open and closed and rotates the wand to angle the vanes for light control. The wand is easy and safe to use.

Draw Control Position:

Your draw controls can be located on the right, left, or middle of your blinds, depending on the type of draw controls and the type of stacking you've chosen. The cord/chain draw control can be located on the left or right, depending on your preference. The wand control is attached to one end of the blinds, so it will move with the blinds as you open/close them. The wand can appear in the middle, if you have chosen a if you have chosen a split stack.
